About The Foundation

Mission

The DMA Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation established as a means for acquiring and distributing resources to support management and educational programs that enhance the knowledge, understanding and skills of DMA members, and benefit the clients that Dietary Managers serve.

Goals

Six goals have been selected in order to meet the DMA Foundation's mission. They are indeed ambitious in order to serve DMA members well into the 21st century:

  • To promote activities and programs that provide educational opportunities for DMA members.
  • To promote activities and programs that provide leadership training for DMA members.
  • To promote innovation and creativity in the field that will enhance dietary management.
  • To promote the development of materials that will assist the public in gaining current information about dietary management.
  • To promote programs that encourage collaboration and partnership in the field of dietary management.
  • To promote and enhance good nutrition in the homebound senior population through a meals program that is national in scope.

Making Contributions

Who May Contribute

Individuals, corporations and other foundations may contribute tax deductible funds and other resources, such as training materials, computers and the like. The contributions can be given to support all programs or they can be earmarked for specific projects.

The board of trustees of the Foundation, which is made up of past national DMA officers and Directors-at-Large and co-chaired by the two most recent past DMA chairs, will approve all allocations of donations. The use of funds and acceptance of resources must be consistent with the Foundation's mission and goals and not in conflict with DMA's mission and goals.

The Foundation is an IRS 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt organization. Individuals and corporations may claim specified tax deductions. Contributions can be made to the Foundation by:

- Sending a check of any amount you choose.

- Designating gifts to honor loved ones and professional colleagues, living or deceased.

- Naming the Foundation in your will or as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy, or donating real estate or other real property.

DMA members may also make a donation to the DMA Foundation when they pay their dues online.
